Rustic Log Cabin Living
It was originally a one room hunting cabin with a loft and wood stove. The cabin now has three distinct sections. Off to one side is a great room with an impressive river stone fireplace. On the other side is an open floor plan with kitchen, dining room and den. The spiral staircase goes up to a catwalk that spans the upper part of the cabin between the two other bedrooms.
Comfortable and Beautifully Decorated
Since we bought the cabin three years ago, we have spent lots of time cleaning, fixing and changing lots of things. We have tried to make it unique, very relaxing and comfortable. We love decorating and often are shopping in different antique stores throughout New England in order to give our guests the best quintessential log cabin experience.
Property Details
Nestled away in the woods, our rustic log cabin with 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms (one on each floor) that sleeps up to 8 is warm, stylish, cozy and most importantly clean and comfy!
The first floor offers one queen bedroom, light and bright cathedral ceilinged fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room, and family room that allows for great conversation and activity flow. The second floor includes two bedrooms, connected by a bridge. One with a king bed and the other a custom-built bunk room, great for the kids.
The cabin sits on 8-wooded acreage and offers a tiny pond frequently visited by Moose. All around we have trails for hiking, skiing, snowmobiles, snowshoeing and sledding. We especially enjoy watching the abundant wildlife. In the winter there are three ski resorts within 25 miles of the cabin and just 5 miles away is the Grafton Outdoor Center with great cross country skiing. Summer, Spring or Fall our spacious yard is perfect for outdoor games. Swing in the hammock, cook out on the grill, sit around the fire pit in the evening and watch the stars go by… And most of all, enjoy Peace and Tranquility!
Great home where family and friends can get together for a rustic Vermont experience.

What Our Guests Say...
Peaceful and cozy cabin in the woods ~ Moose Pond Cabin Vermont
Now that we are settled back into reality, I wanted to take a moment to thank you & your husband on behalf of our family. We absolutely loved and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Moose Pond Cabin. No detail was overlooked – including a welcome surprise/gift, cozy beds, plush towels, games & DVDs, sleds, and a fully stocked kitchen. But the thing my family enjoyed the most was gathering around the fire and spending time together (we went through a lot of firewood, so thank you for the abundant supply)! We took your advice and ate at Rick’s Tavern and Phelp’s Barn, attended the Harris Hill Ski jump, and went fat biking. But each day we looked forward to coming “home” to your peaceful and cozy cabin in the woods.
Thanks again!
Caroline & family
A Wonderful Stay for A Special Family Reunion
Moose Pond Cabin was everything I was expecting and more! From the bottle of wine upon arrival to the freshly plowed access road, to the more than enough supply of wood to keep the wood stove going by frigid temperatures outside and enjoy a wonderful fire in the superb fireplace, we felt thoroughly welcomed. The waffle maker was put to good use and every single blanket came handy at it seemed to be in the perfect spot when we needed extra warmth, as they were so soft. The DVD collection was great and we found 2 movies that everybody agreed to watch together! More than I can say of ours at home!!! The many board games were tempting but we focused on an old favorite of mine, backgammon as it was easy to move by the fireplace. My husband who turned 60 while at the cabin, couldn’t have asked for more. The cabin was perfect: we all had our own space but we also had plenty of room to cozy up together. And we did! We were lucky enough to get to the cabin on the night of a Super Moon which made the whole experience just dreamy. But we also experienced a blizzard on our 4th day, with temperatures plummeting in the teens with windchills in the negatives, and felt completely safe and comfortable. Thanks Arielle and John! We will be back. Perhaps in a different season, but winter will always be our favorite because we have a dog who thrives in arctic temperatures!! Thanks for allowing us to bring our youngest girl with us! All 6 of us were delighted and will remember our stay at Moose Pond Cabin for years to come.
Beautiful Private Weekend Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at the rustic log cabin! The property is beautiful, at night the stars are so bright, we were able to see the milkyway! Really cool! The kitchen and bath is really nice and the fireplace is cozy on a chilly autumn night! We enjoyed Stratton Mountain Resort and the beautiful view from the top of the mountain. Had lunch at Mulligans at Stratton Mountain. Very delicious! Went to Brattleboro area and went to the ski jump(ice pond trail) – 1 mile (mild hike ) to the top of the ski jump, my son enjoyed this hike! Also found a couple of nice covered bridges! Beautiful area to relax and hike and enjoy nature, we also stopped at a local maple farm,Hidden Springs Maple-picked up some maple syrup and had some delicious soft serve maple ice cream! We hope to be back for a winter getaway!
Great Stay at Moose Pond Cabin

Our group of 7 had a great time staying at Moose Pond Cabin during our visit in February 2016. We would recommend it at any time and would love to return back there one day in Summer or Fall. After arrival Owners welcomed us with great warmth, smiles and gave us few pointers what’s where in the area. Lovely Fireplace, Wood Burner and Plenty of fire wood kept us warm and cozy even when temperatures dropped. “Elements” could not break our spirit down, not a chance !!! Cabin, located what seems to be an equal drive (approx. 40-45min) from both Mount Snow and Stratton Mountain Ski Resorts, is also close to many attractions and we could only wish we had more time to enjoy it all. Some can go for long hikes in the woods, others, if preferred, can just relax by the fireplace, finally read this “long overdue” book or play various games – Jenga was our favorite. Although, we’ve started our trip from Mount Snow Area, had delicious breakfast at Dot’s Restaurant in Wilmington, we loved Stratton Mountain Resort a bit better. While some in our group were skiing others enjoyed village Restaurants (recommending Mulligan’s Tavern and its Pull Pork Sandwich/Burgers/ Beer selections), shops and breathtaking view from the top of the mountain. All together a lovely stay
Thank you Kennedy Family….
Cozy Winter Stay

A small group of friends stayed in the cabin in 5 degree temps over President’s Day weekend. With the freezing temps we stayed by the fire in the cabin most of the weekend. Thank goodness there was plenty of firewood there to last us. The cabin had everything needed including board games to pass the time. The beds were wonderfully comfortable. We really appreciated the nice bottle of wine that welcomed us also. My fiance and I were able to have dinner at Grafton pub down the road- I highly recommend.
This is truly a beautiful cabin, a lovely place to unwind.
Awesome Year End Getaway With My Family of 5

The property was amazing and rustic. The fireplace was very warm and welcoming. Great location and place for a family of five. Loved the games and movies. Everyone thought the catwalk was really cool. It was a great place to go skiing. 5-star location and we would highly recommend to anyone else.
Amazing Place

This home is the perfect cabin getaway. The thought that went into developing the interior of the cabin must have been immense. The fireplace (with plenty of firewood) is beautiful and puts out a lot of heat. It was so relaxing and enjoyable that we didn’t want to leave in the morning to go skiing, which is why we were there. Also, we had a significant snow storm and even though the cabin is quite out of the way, we were plowed out in a timely manner. Definitely a five star place.
Amazing Weekend!

What an amazing weekend we had! This cabin is perfect and is equipped with everything you would ever need. We are a family of five – three elementary aged kids, along with two dogs. Everyone had ample space and the kids loved having their own bunkbed bedroom. We loved keeping the fire going when we were home (there are two fireplaces to choose from).
You will definitely need four wheel drive to access the property. We enjoyed exploring the grounds – the kids found multiple sledding hills, plus we were able to get out our snow shoes. Stratton Mountain is a 35 min drive, and there is a wonderful outdoor recreational center in Grafton. We enjoyed dinner at Rick’s Tavern. We loved it so much we went two nights in a row!
Thank you for sharing your special cabin. We will definitely be back again.
